READ ALOUD COMPANION- No David!- From NO to KNOW Lesson and Activities

$2.99

Help young learners understand why classroom expectations matter with this interactive kindergarten read-aloud lesson pack for No, David! by David Shannon.

Rather than simply labelling behaviour as “good” or “bad,” this lesson encourages children to look closely at a classroom situation, consider who might be affected and suggest a safer, kinder or more helpful choice.

During the interactive read-aloud, children discuss why an adult might say no and practise turning a problem into a positive replacement choice. After reading, children become Choice Detectives as they sort realistic classroom situation cards, explain their thinking and revise choices that may interfere with safety, kindness or learning.

The student reflection page gives children space to draw the original problem, imagine a new choice and explain how their idea would help the classroom community.
