EXPLORING ANGER
Kindergarten Self-Regulation Read-Aloud and Calming Strategies
Help young learners recognize anger, notice possible body clues and explore safe self-regulation choices with this ready-to-teach Kindergarten lesson.
Created around When I Feel Angry by Cornelia Maude Spelman, this resource combines a purposeful read-aloud discussion with optional breathing, movement and strategy-selection activities. Children learn that anger is a valid emotion and that they can communicate their needs while keeping bodies, people and materials safe.
Students may try a strategy, observe the activity or select another option. Breathing, closing the eyes, physical touch and public sharing are never required.
